The Haven Academy is a private Family Empowerment Scholarship school registered with the Florida Department of Education serving students ages 14-22 with a wide range of abilities. The Haven Academy provides functional academics, life skills, vocational skills, and community-based instruction with a low student-to-teacher ratio, so our students reach their academic and personal goals. Instructors use the Unique Learning System; a one-of-a-kind program designed specifically for students with complex learning needs. The Haven Academy accepts Family Empowerment Scholarships as well as private pay.

Academic AND Career Readiness

Florida’s Able Trust High School-High Tech program is exclusively offered in Sarasota & Manatee Counties. This program is geared toward high school students ages 14-22 with disabilities who have an IEP/405 Plan. HSHT prepares students for life after high school – post-secondary education, employment, community involvement – through real-world experiences. Activities include career workshops, industry & campus tours, summer internships, community service projects, leadership development, and much more!

All instructional personnel, educational support employees, and administrators are required as a condition of employment to complete training on these standards of ethical conduct.

Reporting Misconduct by Instructional Personnel and Administrators All employees, educational support, instructional personnel and administrators have an obligation to report misconduct by instructional personnel and school administrators which affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student. Examples of misconduct include obscene language, drug and alcohol use, disparaging comments, prejudice or bigotry, sexual innuendo, cheating or testing violations, physical aggression, and accepting or offering favors.
